Hoddesdon Advanced Thermal Treatment plant

WEP Partners has developed and funded a £60m waste-to-energy plant which will become one of the largest in the UK to convert commercial and industrial waste into energy. The project's investment was led by Foresight Group, through its partnership with the Green Investment Bank, with co-investors Noy Fund and P3P Partners.

Using advanced technology the gasification plant will divert over 90,000 tonnes of waste from landfill. It will power 14,500 homes each year and reduce carbon emissions by 1.5 million tonnes over its lifetime.

The plant will create more than 110 jobs during its development and 17 full-time positions once operational in 2017. The plant is being constructed by Bouygues Energy and Services.
